What Rove keeps when you use it, why, and who else is involved.
What we keep
- Your account: email address, and your name and profile photo if you sign in with Google.
- Your projects: titles, the brief you write, the photos you upload, Rove’s shortlist and notes, your order and captions.
- Saved edits: when you press Save in the photo editor, the original and the edited copy.
- Usage counts for your plan’s monthly limits, and, if you subscribe, your plan and payment status.
- Product events such as “project created” or “export made”. These never include your photos, captions or IP address.
Visitor statistics
- To count visits, each page view records the page path (with private links and ids removed), the referring website’s name, campaign tags from the link (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content), and whether the device is a phone, tablet or computer.
- To estimate how many different people visited, the server combines your IP address and browser version with a random value that changes every day, and keeps only a short code made from them. Your IP address and browser details are not stored, and the daily value is deleted, so a visit cannot be linked to another day or to your account.
- No cookie or browser storage is used for these statistics.
Cookies
- Sign-in cookies, to keep you signed in.
rove_ftandrove_lt: where this browsing session came from (page, campaign tags, referring site), so a signup can be credited to the link that brought you. They contain no identifier and are deleted when you close your browser.rove_anon: a random identifier kept for up to a year, used to connect events on the giveaway pages and invitation and referral links to the same browser. It is not used for the visitor statistics above.- A voting cookie, set only when you vote on a friend’s cover, so you cannot vote twice.
Where your photos go
- Uploaded photos are stored in private storage tied to your account. Rove shows them to you through short-lived links.
- Shortlisting, ordering, captions and song suggestions do not send your photos to any AI service. Your browser measures each photo (light, sharpness, colour, capture time; never location) and only those numbers are sent to Rove.
- Optional editor features (finding faces for retouching and finding the person for background edits) download open-source models to your browser and run there. Your photos are not sent anywhere to do this.
- The photo editor works on your device. Nothing is uploaded unless you press Save.
- Rove never posts anything and does not connect to your Instagram or other accounts.
- A project is only visible to others if you create a share link for it yourself.
Who else is involved
- Supabase: sign-in, database and file storage.
- Razorpay: payments for Pro. Your card or UPI details go to Razorpay, not to Rove.
- Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Our hosting provider, which serves the site.
We do not sell your data.
Deleting your data
You can delete a project at any time from My Projects. That removes the photos uploaded to it, any edits saved from them, the measurements, order, captions and share link. Photos you only opened in the editor without signing in never leave your device. Deleting your whole account is not built into the app yet. Email support@rove-ai.com and we will remove it.
